Arto Lindsay in Chinatown

Photographer Marcelo Krasilcic shot these creative album promotional images for experimental musician and no wave pioneer Arto Lindsay in 2007. Having previously starred in and directed a music video for Arto, our ongoing collaboration continued with this distinctive photo session.

Krasilcic gave us complete freedom to create something unique that captured Lindsay's avant-garde spirit. The styling featured theatrical pieces from my personal wardrobe that reflected Lindsay's decades-long career blending noise music, Brazilian rhythms, and downtown New York experimentalism.

Lindsay fully embodied the creative vision, bringing the same boundary-pushing energy that made him a cult figure from his DNA days through his innovative solo work. The result: striking, original promotional photography that honored his artistic legacy while breaking conventional album promo aesthetics.
